This class is the 2nd day or last 8 hours of Illinois Concealed Carry. This class is designed for those that have already taken the first 8 hours or have prior training that exempt them from taking Day 1.

In this class we will discuss the FOID law, Federal firearm laws, Transportation, Carry law, Use of Force, and Officer Interaction.

There is a shooting qulification that you must pass to obtain your certificate. This shooting qualification requires that you shoot a total of 30 rounds from 3 different distances. 10 rounds from 5 yards, 10 rounds from 7 yards, and 10 rounds from 10 yards. The minimum passing score is 21 rounds within the black portion of a B27 target. Don’t sweat it, you will be just fine!

What to bring to the range

It is outdoors so dress for the weather, we will shoot rain, snow, or shine (no lightning). The recommended equipment is listed below.

  • Hat with a brim
  • Long pants
  • No open shirts (brass has a tendency to fall down openings in shirts)
  • A pistol that you could realistically conceal and carry
  • A holster that attaches to your belt, that is designed for your specific firearm, and that covers the trigger with kydex. One size fits all soft holsters are not permitted.
  • A sturdy belt
  • Hearing protection
  • Eye protection
